Detailed description of Ridgemark Golf & Country Club, Diablo Golf Course
Ridgemark Golf & Country Club, is a Public, 36 hole golf course located in Hollister, California. The Ridgemark facility has two 18-hole golf courses, they are The Diablo and The Gabilan. Ridgemark is less than 40 minutes from both the metropolitan areas and Carmel; 15 minutes from historic San Juan Bautista Mission; 45 minutes south of San Jose; 20 minutes from the Gilroy Outlet Center and adjacent to several world class wineries.
The Diablo course first opened for play in 1974. The course was designed by Richard Bigler
Diablo is the more scenic course of the two courses. The course can get windy. A rolling, hilly layout with wide contoured greens. Lots of out-of-bounds
#7 is a par-5 where you hit off a hillside onto a landing area and over a barranca abut 595 yards. This is truly a great hole that many will remember as Diablo's most challenging.
Diablo is the more of a scoring course, with a par-5 (#11) that's reachable in two for most people, and also a par-4 (#13) that's easy to par with birdies always a real possibility.

They've recently closed 18 holes (used to be two - 18 hole courses) and made one - 18 hole course by selecting holes from the prior 2 courses. Not available any more on GOLF.com and they're back to $65 green fees w/cart. I lived at Ridgemark for 12+ years and glad I sold and left a yesr+ ago before they hurt home prices by closing 18 holes (how would you like to have bought a home on a fairway only to see the fairway dissapear??)

A resort course, which is golfer friendly. It is in good condition for this time of the year. The fairways and greens are a good challenge.

GREAT GREENS, EVEN AFTER HEAVY RECENT RAINFALL. PLAYED IN 3HRS,30 MINUTES WITH CARTS ON PATHS. HIT EVERY CLUB IN THE BAG, NO HOLES THE SAME, BEAUTIFUL SCENERY.

Came out of San Francisco to play. In that regards, passed lots of courses on the way to the course. The course definitely is plays harder than what it looks. It was in excellent condition and was not busy on the day we played. Again, my only issue is the distance. Long drive to be sure.

The Ridgemark course was in beautiful condition. Our group was very pleased with their golf/villa package. A supurb golf experience. Plays a lot harder than it looks. Greens beautiful.

Our golf group used to go here quite a lot. This used to be an outstanding 36 hole layout but they sold and cut it down to a disjointed 18. Very easy to get lost between some greens and next tee. The condition has gone down quite a bit since it was 36. Hope it improves but we won't be playing again until it does.
